BE CERTAIN TO ASK THE OFFICERS BEFORE YOU TAKE ANY ACTION WHICH MAY AFFECT YOUR LEGAL STANDING IN MALAYSIA.

(If a student, scholar, or family member violates an Immigration regulation, he or she may be ordered to leave the country before completing the academic programme.)

Things To Know:

  1. Student Pass/Visa is Required
As a general rule, foreign individuals who wish to study in the Malaysian educational institutions require Student Pass/Visa. A Student Pass/Visa is a document issued by the Malaysian Immigration Department which allows a foreign individual to study in Malaysia, generally at a specific Malaysian educational institution and in a specific programme, and always for a limited time.

  2. Extension of Student Pass/Visa
Students who continue to study at KDU College must hold a valid student pass/visa. The "Extension of Student Pass/Visa" can be processed by the officer at the SSD.
    Important Note :
    1. Students must apply for the extension at the Student Service Department no later than 60 days before the expiration date on the student pass/visa.
    2. CPA - CGPA must be more than 2.0
    3. Attendance must be more than 80%

  3. Maintaining Your Status
Your eligibility for opportunities such as employment, transferring from one college to another and changing your academic programme depends on the maintenance of the lawful status of your student pass/visa. It is your responsibility to maintain your status. To maintain your student status, you must do the following at all times:
    • Have a passport that is valid for at least six months. If it will expire in less than six months, contact the consulate or embassy of your country in Malaysia to renew it
    • Enroll in a full-time programme.
    • Follow specific procedures for transfers and change of study level
    • Maintain an acceptable academic standing

  4. Transferring To Other Colleges
To transfer to another college you must follow proper procedures. YOU MUST FIRST CANCEL YOUR STUDENT PASS UNDER KDU College and apply a new student pass under the new college. Failure to do so will result in falling out of status.

  5. Reporting Requirements
KDU College has a legal obligation to maintain current records of all international students. Therefore, you must report to the SSD as soon as you arrive on campus. This reporting requirement must be completed before you can register for classes. You must also notify the SSD office if you decide to withdraw or transfer to another institution, or apply for a change of visa status. It is your responsibility to notify the SSD personnel on any change. You should also notify the SSD of any changes in your local address and telephone number.
