All That Jazz: A KDU Penang Star Steps Into the Big League at the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards 2011!

At KDU Penang Campus, we take immense pride in grooming our students for success and guiding them towards greater heights. For the past 20 years, we have produced a constellation of stars—students who have made us proud with their dedication and brilliance.

Most recently, our student council president, Jazz Tan Yee Mei from our Information Technology department participated in the Global Student Entrepreneur Award (GSEA) Competition 2011 and emerged the National Level Champion!

The GSEA is a premier global competition for high school, undergraduate and graduate students who own and operate businesses while at the same time attending college or university. The competition aims to support early-stage student entrepreneurs who require mentoring, recognition and connections to take their businesses to the next level of success. Winners from their respective national competitions move on to compete against their peers from around the world. Founded in 1998 at Saint Louis University, Missouri, the competition is now an Entrepreneurs' Organization Programme.

Miss Tan trumped a slew of other contestants from all over Malaysia and by doing so won the the chance to compete on the international stage for our country in USA! As such, from the 17th to 19th of November 2011, Miss Tan will represent our nation against the brightest young entrepreneurs from 25 other countries at the New York Stock Exchange, USA.

The KDU Penang Information Technology department is honored to have supported Miss Tan in her creative and scholarly endeavors. After all, we believe not only in fostering academic excellence, but also in encouraging our students to strive for distinction outside the college. Our dedicated team of staff is always present to provide them with the resources and support they need to continuously dream and achieve bigger.

Our heartiest congratulations go out to Jazz Tan—may she continue to do us and our nation proud!
