His short biography is:
Ian Barnes of the University of Lincoln in the UK is the University’s Jean Monnet Professor of European Economic Integration - a post that was part sponsored by the European Union. He is currently the Head of International Partnerships in the Business School and was formerly Head of the Department of Business and Finance at the University of Lincoln. 

He is the author of a number of academic articles and two major books,  The Enlarged  European Union, published by Longman and The Environmental Policy of the European Union, published by Edward Elgar. His recent publications cover a range of EU related issues including EU New Neighbours Policy, Monetary Union, EU Enlargement and labour migration. He has been an EU Visiting Professor in China under the EU-China Higher Education programme (Tsinghua University) and in recent years has taught in Chongqing China. His current research interests include the cooperation between China and the European Union on Environmental Policy, the Euro Area Crisis and Migration within the EU and Brexit.
