George Town, Nov 10 - Like portals to other dimensions, each room of Jetty 35 hosted different activities throughout the event duration. The attendees enjoyed the students’ performances, workshops and movies from 3pm to 11pm.

Dimensions is an event organised by students pursuing their Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in International Hotel and Tourism Management at KDU Penang University College (KDU Penang).

The team, Vibrance, spent more than a month organising Dimensions for the purpose of acing their assignments. The chairperson of Vibrance, Lalitha Doraisingam said her team gain experience and knowledge that would have not been possible to attain in a classroom from organising the event.

“During the event, we didn’t face any major problems and gained more knowledge compared to merely attending lecture after lecture.

“Truly, it is outside of the classroom experience,” said Lalitha.

Chooi Ee Cheng, a 21-year-old attendee, said the feature that attracted her the most were the decorations at the event which were crafted entirely by the members of Vibrance. “The decorations were unique and quite fascinating.’ said Ee Cheng.

Youths and foreign travellers that entered to Jetty 35 were greeted with a manmade neon signage of the word ‘Dimensions’ in a cursive font and a kiosk selling coupons. Rows of a pop-up market could be seen selling handcrafted accessories, clothing and many other goodies.

Live performances marked the end of the event, held in one of the halls at Jetty 35, melodic voices and tunes filled the hall as talented singers and guitarists performed with the utmost vigour.
