KDU Penang expands recruitment and service coverage with new Ipoh centre

In the land known as the 'Bougainvillea City', KDU College Penang continuous to celebrate the KDU Education Group's 30th Anniversary by opening its inaugural regional recruitment and service centre on the 19th of August 2013.

Located at No.3 Jalan Dato' Tahwil Azar in the heart of Ipoh town itself, the new KDU Ipoh Recruitment Centre is housed at a convenient area for the Ipoh public that is nearby famous Ipoh retail and F&B hotspots such as the Lou Wong 'bean sprouts and steam chicken' restaurant as well as the Purple Cane tea house.

The momentous occasion was graced by Guest of Honor Mr. Aznan Bin Alias, Sector Head for Private and Special Education Perak Education Department who also officially launched the centre by unveiling the main feature wall signage of the centre counseling area which features KDU's famous blue shield logo. He was joined in attendance for the ceremony by KDU Penang's management team members, Principals and Counselors of the Ipoh's Secondary Schools, several local Ipoh College representatives as well as KDU Penang's local agent representatives.

Commending KDU Penang's initiative in setting up their first regional office in Ipoh, Mr. Aznan Bin Alias said, "A good number of our Perak students are known to move to our neighboring states such as Penang up north and the Klang Valley down south for their tertiary education studies every year. As such, I pleased to see the physical arrival of the KDU Education Group into the Ipoh district with this KDU Ipoh Recruitment Centre. It is good to see that as one of Malaysia's pioneers in the tertiary education industry which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, they are stepping up their efforts to reach out to their potential students and their parents in Perak more often with the deployment of a physical support office and staff in the heart of Ipoh itself."

Dr. Chong Beng Keok, the CEO and Principal of KDU College Penang was no doubt pleased with the successful setting up of KDU's Recruitment Centre and stated, "A good 15% of our students in the Penang campus throughout years have come from the state of Perak itself with the main majority coming from the districts of Ipoh and Taiping. Our brand have always well received by the public in Perak so in view of this, we decided in conjunction with KDU's 30th year as a KDU Education Group, the time is now right for us to reach out to the Ipoh market further with the establishment of our first regional office in Ipoh."

Mr. Neoh Soon Ken, Senior Marketing & Communications Manager for KDU College Penang also gave a sneak preview of the new KDU Ipoh Recruitment Centre operations and facilities. He highlighted in his presentation that besides being a fully functional counseling and recruitment facility for potential students, the centre which is run by a KDU full time personnel will feature a fully equipped e-learning ready 30 pax workshop room and an open space team building area for team building activities.

With this new regional office, the new KDU Ipoh Recruitment Centre will serve as a focal counseling and servicing point for the Ipoh public. The centre is located No.3 Jalan Dato' Tahwil Azar and is open from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5.30 pm with weekends counseling available upon request and during new intake periods.
