KDU College Penang's faculty members will soon gain more opportunities to develop internal academic researchers. This comes after Dr Chong Beng Keok, Principal of KDU College Penang on 26th April 2012 recently officiated the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ming Dao University, Taiwan. This collaboration will serve to create a framework for KDU to work together to facilitate in areas of education, research towards the internationalization of higher education.

"I am pleased to announce this significant cooperation agreement with the Ming Dao University as our collaboration will allow us to provide more value and opportunities for participation in special short-term academic and cultural programs. In fact, students will have an upper hand if they pursue a Dual Degree Program. This agreement will have a profound positive impact on students as they gear towards a borderless world", said Dr Chong.

In the MoU, KDU College Penang will commit to joint Academic Projects and Conferences. This five-year agreement in return will allow students to excel through coordinating MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing, Exhibitions) events to gain experience especially for students from KDU's School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts. With more exposure towards handling such events, this will dramatically engage the tourism sector in Penang to flourish when the MICE events are supported by capable manpower with global experience.

As part of this new relationship, KDU looks forward to fruitful collaboration by formally enabling researches at both institutions to utilize and learn from the experience and expertise of their colleagues.
