Poultry cooking competition kicks off at KDU Penang University College

George Town, 18 March – Big, juicy birds have taken over KDU Penang University College this Saturday at the “Big Bird Challenge”, a competition organized jointly by Sabajuta Sdn Bhd and KDU Penang’s School of Hospitality, Tourism, & Culinary Arts.

The Big Bird Challenge is a cooking competition specially designed for professional master chefs, where they will create special dishes using local, halal, farm-fresh poultry: turkey, goose, and grass-fed chicken. The friendly competition will showcase the talent and skill of the competing master chefs, as well as create awareness of the quality of local halal farm-fresh poultry.

“Today, we are working with Sabajuta Sdn Bhd to let you know buying local excellent breeds of chicken, turkey, and goose is just as good, if not better,” said Dr Chong Beng Keok, Vice Chancellor of KDU Penang University College during her opening speech. “In fact, buying local goods has a positive impact on the environment, and reduces your overall carbon footprint.”
