823 Students Graduate from KDU Penang University College

George Town, 24 October —KDU Penang University College (KDU Penang) recently held its first ever graduation ceremony since being conferred University College status last year. Valedictorian award recipient Kenny Cheah Wen Foong graduated with a Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering at KDU Penang’s commencement ceremony, held in Equatorial Hotel on Sunday, October 23.

As an active exponent in the sport of fencing, Cheah won two bronze medals at SUKMA 2013 for the Men’s Foil Team and Men’s Epee Team categories. He also won gold medal in the Men’s Epee Individual and bronze medal in the Men’s Foil Individual at the Prince of Wales Island International Fencing Championship. In addition, he obtained Rank 5 at the Nilai University Fencing League and Rank 7 at the National Cadet and Junior Championship.

Cheah is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, also in KDU Penang. When asked of his plans for the future, Cheah said, “I would be looking for a job in the engineering industry, either in Penang or Singapore”. “I would also want to start a fencing academy with a goal of expanding fencing in Penang”, he added.
