Another triumphant year for KDU Penang students in Halal competition

George Town, 3 March – The 3rd Penang International Halal Chef Challenge, organized by Halal Penang in collaboration with Penang Chefs Association Malaysia saw KDU Penang University College (KDU Penang)’s culinary hopefuls triumph again.

The event, which was held from the 24th to 26th February 2017 at Setia Spice was conducted over 3 exciting days, with participants from students and professionals in hospitality, tourism and culinary industry that will demonstrate their culinary skills in front of a panel of internationally renowned judges.

Overall, KDU Penang students bagged 1 Gold, 4 Silver, 7 Bronze and 6 Diplomas for the annual competition. On top of that, another group of students also won 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for the Ambient Cake and Coffee Pairing competition.

The Penang International Halal Chef Challenge emphasizes on education, greater used of Halal ingredients and professional culinary presentations of Malaysian and other international cuisines.
