Engineering ideas that count!

In this 21st century, ideas and innovations are some essential values for oneself to stand out among the peers in the market place.

Recognizing the needs for the students to excel better in the future work place, KDU College Penang has always prepared its students through innovative teaching, various hands-on experiences as well as to expose the students in many different competitions.

One of the recent activities was to participate in the MOTO Innocup 2013 competition held on the 2nd of December 2013. Themed "Gesture – Next Generation Smart User Input Device", the competition required the participants to develop an application or system that can intelligently detect motions and utilize gestures to control the application or system. Its aim was to cultivate interest and to provide a platform for building future talent in embedded system software.

Year 2 students from the KDU-UNN 3+0 BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering programme, Lim Wai Xiang, Adrian Teo and Tan Chiang Wei successfully attained the 1st Runner-Up for the competition and received cash prize of RM 2000, certificates and a trophy with their creation - Upper-Fitness Personal Assistant (Body-guts).

Congratulations once again to our Engineering students for their infinite imagination and brilliant invention!
