George Town, 8 October 2015 – KDU College Penang (KDU College) is inviting the public to the campus to be part of the “#WHY Project 2015”, a social movement organised by Mass Comm students with a mission to increase engagement and to encourage the acts of spreading love, positive vibes and goodwill nationwide among our culturally diverse adolescents and youths.

“A lot of people live stressful lives while some allow themselves to be engulfed by depression. And with an increasingly competitive environment, stress level tends to escalate also”, said WHY Project’s Marketing Leader Olivia Cheah. “Through this event, we want to remind the public that life can be very enjoyable and that everyone is capable of contributing in spreading good vibes around by being more sociable”. This event is also part of KDU’s initiative in grooming socially responsible students.

#WHY Project will be held at KDU College’s foyer, on 10th October from 9am onwards. Activities will commence after an opening speech by KDU College’s principal Dr. Chong Beng Keok and VIP guest YB Chong Eng, ADUN of Padang Lalang. The main event is called “Unplugged Runner”. Inspired by the Korean reality-variety show “Running Man”, participants will compete in eight action-packed station games for the grand prize of RM500 plus a trophy and a certificate. Interested participants are invited to sign up in a team of five members. Lunch, T-shirt and name tags will be provided.

A #WHY Project Mini Bazaar will also be held throughout the day. Merchandise such as T-shirts, button badges, stickers, key chains will be on sale while food and beverage booths will be open as well. Other activities include the #WHY Photo Booth, where 3D-designed photo booths will be set up for the public to pose and take photos in. Props are available as well. The public will also be able to release helium balloons with a message attached to it to commemorate the event. Proceeds from the bazaar will be donated to the Seri Cahaya Orphanage in Batu Maung.
