KDU Penang Marks UC era with Appointment of Deputy Vice-chancellor

George Town, 3 February 2016 – Associate Professor Dr. Brian Charles Imrie has been appointed Deputy Vice-chancellor (Academic & Research) of KDU Penang University College (KDU Penang) as the campus is undergoing its transition into a University College.

Prior to his appointment, Dr Imrie was professor and associate dean (Post-graduate & Research) at Sunway University from 2012 to until November 2015.

Dr Imrie holds a PhD in Marketing obtained from University of Otago, New Zealand and two Bachelor’s degrees – Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Business Management from Lincoln University, and Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University of Wellington. Since then, Dr Imrie has held several academic positions within Malaysia, New Zealand and Australia.

Before embarking on an academic career, he worked in the financial services sector, igniting his interest in services marketing.
