1. What type of work can I do with a Business Diploma? 
Business diploma holders who are equipped with sound knowledge and skills in business management can expect to work as a junior executive in the office and manufacturing concerns. Alternatively, they may choose to be more entrepreneurial by starting up their own businesses.
2. Who is this course designed for and what are the available options upon graduation? 
This diploma was designed by KDU College since its inception. However, this course is fine-tuned with the latest syllabus and industrial visits to ensure students learn the best in business. If they graduate with this Diploma, they can pursue the Bachelor of Management (Marketing, Entrepreneurship and International Business) or Bachelor of Accounting which are expected to commence in Sep/ Oct 2016. Alternatively, graduates with a good CGPA of 3.0 can choose to complete a 2-year articulation programme at foreign universities.
3. What is the difference between starting my own business and enrolling in a Business programme? 
There is an obvious difference between these two options. You can start your businesses without a diploma. But in this globalised world, education and training are key to success in today’s highly competitive business environment. You need to have good knowledge and skills to understand the business world and make decisions.
4. Do I have to be good at mathematics and science to study Business? 
Ideally, it is important for students to be analytical and knowledgeable in science and technology. If they have a sound background in mathematics and accounting, they can quickly perform basic calculation and data analysis for effective solutions. If they are in technical fields, then knowledge of science will be an added advantage.
5. What are the prospects and future of Business studies? 
Business studies are generic studies. They will remain relevant in the future business. The prospects are good as graduates can choose to work in the office, factory, banks and insurance companies or even start up their own businesses.
6. Is there any opportunity for further education? 
If they wish to further their studies, they can pursue MBA course to further enhance their knowledge and skills.
7. Are there age limitations to study for a diploma or degree? 
There are no age limitations, however, entry requirements must be fulfilled.
8. What is the academic calendar for a diploma?
There are three semesters in an academic year. The semester typically runs from January through March (short semester), April to July (long semester) and August to December (long semester) with short breaks for holidays.
9. What is the credit system in a programme?
A credit is a numerical value assigned to each subject which reflects the number of hours the class will meet with the professor each week and the number of hours the students spend studying on their own.
10. What is a GPA?
Grade Point Average (GPA) is a numeric indicator for a student's academic performance in a semester, calculated on a scale of 4.0.
11. What is the grading system in KDU Penang University College?
Letter grades are used to indicate a student's academic performance, A, B, C etc. Each letter grade has a numeric value which is used to calculate a GPA, on a scale of 4.0.
12. How are grades determined?
Grades are typically determined by but not limited to quizzes, midterms, final exams, papers, projects, class attendance and class participation.
