KDU College Penang to host its 2nd International Student Conference

GEORGE TOWN, 17 February - The legendary Napoleon Bonaparte once said that a leader is a dealer in hope. How does a good leader bring hope and affect change? Well, for all Gen-Ys who would like to have their ideas put across and their voices heard, hurry and be a part of the ISC 2014.

This is the second year KDU College Penang (KDU Penang) is organising the International Student Conference (ISC) for the benefit of all young people from near and far. The 2nd International Student Conference will be held from 11-14 June 2014 at Four Point Hotel, Penang with an aspiring theme – “Dealer in Hope, Leader in Action”.

Organised by the Student Council of KDU Penang, the conference will serve as a platform to inspire, develop and mould today’s youths who will be tomorrow’s leaders. One of the highlights of the conference is the CEO Talk Series where influential leaders from esteemed corporations come together to share valuable knowledge and experiences while exploring new perspectives in leadership with participants at the conference. Concurrent sessions are held to create more opportunities for participants to present their ideas.

The President of KDU’s Student Council and Organising Chairperson for ISC 2014, Ms Ginger Chin Zhi Wei informed that last year’s conference saw participation from 15 countries with 61% of foreigners. She further added, “This year, we are expecting to draw around 500 participants from various universities and colleges from Malaysia and abroad such as United Kingdom, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Brunei, Hong Kong and many more.”

Ms Joey Phuah, KDU’s Student Service Department Manager who is also the Advisor for the event explained that the event delivers insightful information and provides an opportunity for participants to build their network among representatives from around the world. “To make the event more meaningful, participants will be given a treat where they will visit the beautiful city of George Town on the 3rd day to promote Penang as a tourism destination. This initiative is also in line with Visit Malaysia Year 2014,” added Ms Phuah. “It is also our aim to support the Penang State government’s mission in making Penang a premium education hub for the Northern region.”

Registration is now open! So tomorrow’s leaders-to-be, hurry and book your seats with us! The organising committee would also like to extend invitations to organisations that are interested to support the event. Kindly contact Ms Cheah Shi Yi at 04-2266368 or shiyi.cheah@kdupg.edu.my.
