KDU College Penang teams up with HOPE Worldwide to raise funds for Free Mobile Clinic

KDU College Penang will add another charitable cause to its corporate social responsibility (CSR) platform for 2012 by holding a Charity Bazaar this 9th June 2012 at its premise at 32 Jalan Anson. The college warmly invites members of the public's to join in the effort for this cause which is in support of HOPE Worldwide's Free Mobile Clinic & Reading Program. Proceeds from this Charity Bazaar will cover for medical expenses for the needy through the Free Mobile Clinic Service's outreach programme to rural areas including orang asli settlements.

The bazaar, supported by Starbucks, Dreamz and M-Care is expected to draw as many as 10,000 visitors with YB Phee Boon Poh, State Councilor of Health and Welfare, Caring Society, Environment also coming in as the guest of honor to grace the event.

This is KDU Penang's 2nd year in the organization of a charity drive for HOPE Worldwide with its previous event raising almost RM 60 000 to construct a Mobile Clinic for the organization in 2010. Organizing chairperson from KDU, Ms Joey Phuah said, "There are different ways to get involved in charity. This bazaar hopes to build further awareness on the need for a caring society. With these funds we are able to expand care for the needy and help to provide for a better future for them."

If you are a fan of badminton sportsman Dato' Lee Chong Wei, then you will not want to miss the autographed badminton racquet auction with his signature Yonex racquet going up for grabs to the highest bidder. Besides collecting new and pre-loved items such as books, magazines to be sold at the bazaar, there will also be sales of paintings and fabulous prizes for lucky draw.
