KDU Penang UC Champions and Runner-up at Global Business Services Challenge 2016

Two teams from KDU Penang University College (KDU Penang) achieved an impressive one-two as they clinched the Champion and Runner Up spots at the Global Business Services (GBS) Challenge 2016 at KDC Cyberjaya on 23rd April. The teams, consisted of students from the Degree in Business Management and one student from Degree in Engineering received RM5000 and RM3000 in prize money respectively.
Organised by Talent Corp and MDec, the competition saw participation from 6 private higher education institutions including Universiti Malaya, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, SEGI College, INTI and UPSI.
The annual competition, aimed at encouraging business students to come up with the best possible innovative business ideas to solve real life problems, consisted of a “Bootcamp” where the participants work with industry MNCs such as HIS, Jabil, and AMD on their challenges. The industry challenges for MNCs were to improve human resource management operations, improve unmatched invoices from packaging suppliers and to reap the benefits from the evolution of Global Business Services respectively. The overall outcome is to have a new Global Business Services model that is flexible but consistent for diverse set of global customers and offices to maximise the operational benefits.
